1. When using the EW-R61/81, please set the distance between the sensor and the reflector to a value greater than that within [100mm].
2. The detection distance for the diffuse reflection type is the distance when detecting a white A4 paper.

Safety Precautions

*If this product is not used correctly, it may cause mild or moderate personal injury or material damage. *Do not connect the sensor to an alternating current power source, as there is a risk of explosion.

The following items are of great importance for ensuring safety. Please make sure to comply with them strictly:

(1) Do not use this product in an environment with flammable or explosive gases. 

(2) Do not disassemble, repair, or modify this product. 

(3) The power supply voltage must be within the rated range (DC 12 to 24V ±10%). 

(4) Use a load that does not exceed the rated value.

Safety Key Points

(1) Do not use this product in the following places: 

①Places directly exposed to sunlight. 

②Places with high humidity or prone to condensation. 

③Places containing corrosive gases. 

④Places where vibration or impact can be directly transmitted to the sensor. 

(2) Connection and Installation: 

①The maximum allowable voltage of the sensor is DC 26.4V. Before powering on, please confirm that the supply voltage is lower than the maximum allowable voltage. 

② When the sensor wire is used in the same sleeve as the power line or electrical line, it will be interfered with, which may lead to malfunction or even damage. In principle, the sensor wire must be placed separately or shielded. 

③ The extended wire must be a wire with a cross-sectional area of more than 0.3 mm² and a length of no more than 100m. When using the Korean S-mark certified model as a certified product, the wire length should not exceed 10m. 

④ The force applied to the wire part should be less than the following values: Tensile force not exceeding 80N, torque not exceeding 0.1N·m, pressing force not exceeding 20N, and bending force not exceeding 3kg. 

⑤ When installing the sensor, do not apply severe external force to the sensor (such as hitting it with a hammer, etc.), otherwise it may damage the waterproof protection performance of the sensor. When installing, please use M3 bolts for fixing. 

(3) Cleaning: Since diluents and the like will dissolve the surface of the product, please avoid using them. (4) Power Supply: When using a commercially available switching rectifier, please ground the FG (Frame·Ground terminal). 

(5) Power Reset Time: The time from powering on to when the sensor can detect normally is 100ms. Therefore, please use it 100ms after powering on. When the load and the sensor are connected to different power sources, be sure to power on the sensor first. 

(6) Power Off: When the power is turned off, output pulses may occur. Therefore, it is recommended to turn off the power of the load or the load line first. 

(7) Disposal: When disposing of this product, please treat it as industrial waste. 

Commitment Items during Use

(1) To ensure safety, do not use this product directly or indirectly for human body detection. If it is necessary to use it for this purpose, please select the safety sensor published in the comprehensive sample of our company's sensors.
(2) When using it for the following purposes, please consult with our company's application engineers, confirm according to the specification sheet, etc., and adopt a usage method with a certain margin relative to the rated performance, or take safety circuit measures that can minimize the degree of danger even in case of a failure:
a) When using it outdoors, in an environment with potential chemical pollution or electrical interference, or in conditions or environments not described in the product manual, instruction manual, etc.
b) When using it for atomic energy control equipment, incineration equipment, railways, aviation, vehicle equipment, medical equipment, entertainment devices, safety devices, and equipment manufactured in accordance with the regulations of administrative authorities or individual industries.
c) When using it for systems, machines, or devices that may endanger life or property.
d) When using it for gas, water supply, power supply systems, or highly reliable equipment such as 24-hour continuous operation systems.
e) When using it for other purposes that require a high level of safety based on the criteria of a) to d) above.
